Michael Gravel

Michael Gravel's passions are poetry and web design. He believes that art, design, and poetry strive for the same ideal: to say the most with the least. His poetry chapbooks include The Fast Places (Red Nettle Press, 2008), Corduroy Forecast (The Rasp and the Wine, 2010), and We Need You (The Rasp and the Wine, 2014). He runs a small web communication consultancy called MG Creative where he exercises his passion for simplicity and order. He was one of the founding founders—and the front man—of the Raving Poets, an open mic poetry series that concluded its 10 year run in 2010. Michael founded DailyHaiku in 2006.

Angela Leuck

Angela Leuck is the author of Garden Meditations and A Cicada in the Cosmos (Inkling, 2009), haiku white/haiku noir (Carve, 2007) and Flower Heart (Blue Ginkgo, 2006). She has also edited numerous anthologies, including Rose Haiku for Flower Lovers and Gardeners (Price-Patterson, 2005), Tulip Haiku (Shoreline, 2004), and, with Maxianne Berger, Sun Through the Blinds: Montreal Haiku Today (Shoreline, 2003). Her current project is co-editing, along with George Swede, Wild Moons: The Canadian Tanka Anthology.

Linda Pilarski

Linda Pilarski

Linda Pilarski is the editor of DailyHaiga. She has lived and worked in the USA, Australia and Canada. With her notebook and camera, she has hiked in wild and beautiful places on all seven continents. Her haiku and haiga have appeared in DailyHaiku, Simply Haiku, Acorn, Wisteria, White Lotus Shadow Poetry, Chrysanthemum, Modern Haiga, Haigaonline, Moonset, the World Haiku Association Haiga Contest, World Haiku Review 2009, Prune Juice, Canadian Zen Haiku, Haiku Dreaming Australia, paper wasp and Frogpond.

Sondra J. Byrnes

Sondra J. Byrnes

Sondra J. Byrnes, relatively new to writing poetry, writes haiku, senryu, and tanka. Her poetry has been published in Frogpond, Prune Juice, A Hundred Gourds, Ribbons, Modern Haiku, The Heron's Nest, Moongarlic, among others. Along with short form poetry, Byrnes is interested in ikebana and chanoyu. Byrnes is a retired law and business professor from the University of Notre Dame; she lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Alexey Andreev

Alexey Andreev

Alexey Andreev was born in 1971 in Novgorod, Russia. Graduated from Leningrad State University as a mathematician. In different years, he served as a computer scientist, a writer, a chief editor for news sites and the creator of the first Russian haiku e-zine Haiku.ru. His awards include 2nd prize at Mainichi Haiku Contest 1997 (International section), 1st place in AIHN Japan-Russia Haiku Contest 2013 (Russian section), 2nd place in Polish International Haiku Competition 2014.

Anna Maris

Anna Maris

Anna Maris is a Swedish haiku poet. Her work appears regularly in journals such as Frogpond, Acorn, A Hundred Gourds and Heron’s Nest and has been included in some fifteen anthologies, including Fear of Dancing (Red Moon Press 2014) and Big Data (Red Moon Press 2015). Polona Oblak

Polona Oblak

Polona Oblak lives, works and writes in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Her haiku have been widely published and frequently anthologised, most recently in Haiku 2015 and Nest Feathers. She is one of the featured poets in A New Resonance 9 and is currently an assistant editor at tinywords.

Nicole Pakan is an active member of the Edmonton literary community. She is the co-editor of DailyHaiku, associate art editor for DailyHaiga, and has served on the board of directors of the Edmonton Poetry Festival. Nicole's first single-author chapbook Driftworks was released in 2012 from Leaf Press. Her work has also recently appeared in: Carousel, CV2, filling Station, The Prairie Journal, and Other Voices. She was the winner of the 2009 Edmonton CBC Poetry Faceoff, placing third nationally. Nicole lives with her literary co-conspirator Patrick M. Pilarski, a dozen fish and far too many plants. Patrick M. Pilarski is the co-editor of DailyHaiku and associate poetry editor for DailyHaiga. His collection of haiku, tanka, haibun, and related forms, Huge Blue, was released in 2009 by Leaf Press, and he is the author of two chapbooks. Patrick's writing has appeared in journals and anthologies across North America, Europe, Australia, and Japan. Recent credits include The Fiddlehead, Modern Haiku, The Heron's Nest, Frogpond, contemporary haibun, and Take Five: Best Contemporary Tanka. He has served as Vice President for the League of Canadian Poets, and is a professor at the University of Alberta. Finley J. McDoggerson

Finley J. McDoggerson is the newest member of DailyHaiku's editorial team. When not eating socks and running in the ravine, he enjoys games of chase-me, playing with his ball, and chewing modern literature.

Mike Gravel

Michael Gravel, Past-Editor and Founder, DailyHaiku, is a writer based in Edmonton, Alberta. He's a founder and the frontman of Edmonton’s Raving Poets, and co-founder of The Roar Spoken Word Festival. He is a freelance writer, web designer, and professional presenter. In December 2007, his life was nearly ended by a pulmonary embolism. In response he authored the chapbook, The Fast Places (Red Nettle, 2008). He lives in a wee house with his wife, stepdaughter, and two incorrigible hounds. He lives to write, code, and spend time with his family.
