DailyHaiku Launch and Learn 2009— Small Words Big Moments V3.0
DailyHaiku, in partnership with the Stanley Milner Library, is pleased to present an afternoon of poetry and learning to celebrate the launch of the third issue of the DailyHaiku print journal.Date: Saturday, November 28, 2009

Readings: This event will feature haiku readings by the Cycle 5 & 6 contributors, including local writers Gord McRae and Glenn Robson.
Keynote:The launch will conclude with a keynote presentation on the gentle art of haiga by local expert Linda Pilarski. In addition to being a Cycle 6 DailyHaiku contributor, she is the editor of sister publication DailyHaiga.
Linda Pilarski is a Canada Research Chair in Biomedical Nanotechnology at the University of Alberta. With her notebook and camera, she has hiked in wild and beautiful places on all seven continents. Her haiku and haiga have appeared in many prominent publications, including: Modern Haiga, Haigaonline, Simply Haiku, Acorn, Wisteria, White Lotus, Chrysanthemum, Prune Juice and Frogpond.

We are very excited to announce Beverly A. Tift as this year's winner of the DailyHaiku Editors' Choice Award for her week of haiku: Cycle 5, Week 1 (Volume III, 2009). Not only are Beverly's poems technically solid, but they also change something in the reader. They encourage us to feel. We are thrilled to present them to you as an example of haiku excellence.
